One of the biggest global challenges is energy transition. How can we provide ourselves with enough energy that is generated sustainably, does not emit CO2 and does not exhaust the natural resources of the earth? In the Netherlands too, we are on the verge of major changes that have an impact on how we live.
To accelerate these changes, the energy, state-of-the-art knowledge and the entrepreneurship of young people are needed. The Energy Innovation Games meet this need. During the Energy Innovation Games, young high potentials set to work on concrete energy issues from the business sector in a short but intensive process. With the result products that can be used to accelerate the energy transition.
The first step is to pinpoint the right challenge and formulate questions that will focus on unlocking new development paths for organizations.
During the games, interdisciplinary teams will produce a prototype and business case for the most challenging energy transition questions in just 4 weeks. Each team exists of four of our changemakers who are at the beginning of their professional career. During two bootcamps of two days, the most innovative product designers, energy experts and economists will help the teams to find scalable solutions.
After the games, the real work starts. We support the teams to transfer outcomes in such a way that it adds value to organizations’ circular objectives and allows for real system change.
In the last years we have organized three Energy Innovation Talks and evolved this concept into the Energy Innovation Games. So far, more than 80 students and professionals have joined us to contribute to the energy transition. The teams have created solutions for network operators in the Netherlands and were able to discuss their propositions with the ministry of Economic Affairs.
